INDONESIA, officially the Republic of Indonesia, is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Indonesia comprises 17,508 islands. With a population of around 238 million people, it is the world’s fourth most populous country, and has the world’s largest population of Muslims. The nation’s capital city is Jakarta.

The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Malaysia. Indonesia’s size, tropical climate, and archipelagic geography, support the world’s second highest level of biodiversity (after Brazil), and its flora and fauna is a mixture of Asian and Australasian species.

Once linked to the Asian mainland, the islands of Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and Bali have a wealth of Asian fauna.

Forests cover approximately 60% of the country.

Indonesia has around 300 ethnic groups, each with cultural identities developed over centuries, and influenced by Indian, Arabic, Chinese, and European sources.

Traditional Javanese and Balinese dances, for example, contain aspects of Hindu culture and mythology, as do wayang kulit (shadow puppet) performances. Textiles such as batik, ikat and songket are created across Indonesia in styles that vary by region.

The most dominant influences on Indonesian architecture have traditionally been Indian; however, Chinese, Arab, and European architectural influences have been significant.

There is no Yacht charter destination in the world that can compare with Indonesia.

Bali & Lombok

Most flights into Indonesia will arrive in Bali, an internationally served holiday island, and gateway to travelers in the vast archipelago of Indonesia. Bali, regularly voted the worlds best island by Travel & Leisure magazine is a convenient port of embarkation for your yacht charter vacation.

Starting from Bali you can sail across the imaginary Wallace line to the Komodo National Park and beyond, where the flora and fauna of subtropical Asia make a sudden and dramatic change into those typical of Australasia.

Here a fantastic diversity of activities await the adventurous: climbing mountains, peering into volcanoes, trekking up to beautiful waterfalls, visiting rural villages, enjoying world-class surfing or scuba diving, exploring pristine beaches, or simply relaxing aboard the yacht while anchored in idyllic bays.

I could spend a life time writing here! but as Indonesia is such a rich and waste frontier you better read the blog or contact me for your request at special destinations in Indonesia.
